My brother rode my atv and loved it. He now wants one of his own. He has looked at the 300ex and seems to like it.
Can anybody provide info. Also what kind of top speed does this bike do.
One last thing. His price is $4,300 out the door. That include all taxes and destination and assembly.
Good deal or not?

Mine ran 57 on rader gun stock. They are very nice 4 wheelers, I love mine and with the 366 stroker kit still have two more over bores to go 395 max bore it raders at 70.

the 300ex is bye no meens a high performance quad, they are great for a beginner though(as long as you can use a clutch). they are by far the best trail bike you can get, there is noone that can tell me different. i love the 300ex. i almost got one over my 400ex but i wanted the extra speed and power, besides i dont ride very many tight trails, around here most of the trails are pretty high speed and i do a lot of hill climbing. but the 300ex is a very nice bike, it was not ment to be a speed demon or anything, so there isnt really anything bad i can say bout it, they are also very very dependable. how big a a guy is he. the 300ex isnt a very big bike so that could be an issue if hes pretty big, im 5'10" 150lb and i fit fine on one

i'm looking at a 300 for my daughter. but for that price i think you could get a nice 400 and most adults will want that extra a 400 offers.

you can say they they aren't fast off the showroom floor, but i'm happy with my 250x which is almost identical and it rips. i jump mostly and the thing is great cuz it's so light. and parts are abundant.

Only thing I've every heard bad about the 300EX is that the reverse is kinda crappy. I've never used it, so just passing on what I heard. They do seem to be great little bikes tho. Very nimble and pretty decent suspension (better than the Warrior at any rate). Some say they are slow, but that's all relative. Lots say that the Warrior is slow, but it's plenty fast for me

The best trail bike ever made!! Dead solid reliable, but the engine is low tech! The stock tires make it a little tippy, so change them out for some Holeshots or something. Eventually, he will want to put a header and muffler on it. The method of getting to reverse is silly, but really no big deal.

Is it the same mechanism as was on the old 250X? If so, my cousin has the 250X and I thought that the reverse on it was pretty slick, if a little unhandy at first. Just push down the button, haul in the clutch and flick the lever with the heel of your shifting foot. The Warrior's reverse is pretty slick (even if it's a bit touchy) being able to shift into it from any gear, but having to reach under the tank for the lever is a pain. My cousin is in reverse, backed up and back into first gear before I even get into reverse!! LOLOriginally posted by: reconranger

What size tires come stock on the 300EX? If they're 22's switch to 20's should make a nice difference in cornering .. if I had my time back I would have gotten 20's for my warrior .. but I stuck with the 22 height for my razr's .. they're good, but a little tippy in the corners ..

refering to the reverse question, they work the same. the 300ex reverse just seems a little less sturdy. i just took off my whole reverse mechanism so now i have a normal clutch lever

Look man the reverse on the 300 is not bad at all. I dont know what people gripe about it for.
reverse procedure: 1.push little red button
2.pull in clutch
3.pull up red lever
The only time i had trouble with it was when it was cold.
