hi guys, one of my budies are getting a quad. he either wants a 300ex or a 400ex. he rode mine and he really likes it, but around his house were he will be riding he doesnt need all the extra power and speed cuz it all pretty tight trails. there isnt very many spots to really open it up. he knows the 400 is much faster but he really doesnt care how fast it is, and hes kinda on a budget. he hasnt really been riding that long, he has accually only drove a quad 4-5 times and that was mine. so i did teach him to use a clutch. do you think the 300 would better suit him. i would apriciate any help

 

The 300EX is the best trail bike there is! It would depend on his size. Might be to cramped on the 300 if he is big.

 

thats what i thought. and he is about my size(5/10 140). i fit on one fine so i guess he should

 

The 300ex would be the best buy. It handles better, is more nimble and it has reverse.

 

dont listen to them, get the 400ex, later you will see what i mean when kids at shool dont make fun of you for having a 400ex.<<----more power----#1 wheelie machine

 

Hey, yfz450r, your stupid, i have never had anyone even think about making fun of my 300ex and im in highschool. quit posting these rediculously stupid posts. Anyway, you could get a 300ex with a pipe/silencer, jets, filter, tires and you'll have a GREAT quad. a pipe really picks a 300ex, youd be suprised.

 

The 300ex handles better than the 400?

 

well i prefer the 250R's,banshee, and 400 and above 4strokes, you guys can ride whatever you want, i got made fun of when i had a blaster and my other buddies got made fun of and they have 300ex's i am in highschool to.

 

People tried to make fun of me for owning a "slow lumberwagon" until I smoked their sport quads ***. Who cares what anyone else thinks, get what you like. And if they make fun of you, modify it and smoke them. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

The 300 does not handle better than the 400. It may be smaller, but the 400 is lighter. I know, only by a couple of pounds, but it is still lighter. If your friend has to have reverse, then that is the only reason to pick a 300 over a 400.
