Does anyone know if the later model aluminum swingarms will fit on an 85 atc 250r, and if so can you use the same bearing carrier or do you have to change the carrier,axle and all? Any help appreciated.

 

i dont think so... the atc 250r's have a narrower bearing carrier housein. as well the swingarm bolt tube for the aluminum swingarms is a single tube wherass pre '88 used two tubes with a spacer in between. i also beleive that the pivot tube complete is narrower

 

The '88-'89 arms are an inch shorter. Also you cannot use the rear engine mount if u tryed an 88-89 arm on an 86-87.
