the weight is the big issue. you might want to look at the carb also if you haven't done that. id say the hp. is 33-35, but a full mod could go as high as 44

i have to say that i disagree with whoever it was who said that a fully modded 400EX can't keep up with a stock YFZ. I know a guy with a 416 kit, new carb, sparks stage 6 pipes, re-jet, K&N filter, 16 tooth front sprocket, and no airbox lid who can keep up with a stock YFZ in a drag. he said he will usually lose by a quad length or less. also, i saw a guy out at pismo with a YFZ with paddles, bald front tires, and a new silencer, who was beating 80% of the banshees at the drags. the only ones he didn't beat were drag bikes.

i paid only $1300 for the quad, i plan on replcing just about everything with better stuff which will bring my grand total to somewhere around $3500 for a quad thats better than new and costomized to my exact tastes

YOU NEVER TOLD ME TO GET A YAMAHA!!!! I HAD YAMAHA BEFORE I HAD HONDA!!! YOU'RE EXACT WORDS "WHY DID YOU BY THAT PIECE OF SH*T YAMAHA? YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGT A POLARIS" AND THE SCRAMMY MIGHT MAKE 40 HP STOCK BUT IT WEIGHS 600LBS AND ITS AN AUTO WHILE ON THE OTHER HAND, A STOCK 400EX MAKES 28 HP AND WEIGHS 400LBS, THEY'RE PRETTY MUCH EQUAL IN SPEED STOCK DUE TO POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO

420ex- you were just over in the yamaha forum a couple of days ago trashing the raptor, saying that the 400ex has more stock rwhp then the raptor........and also that your 440ex would kill a raptor in a race, it sound like you have not even modded your 400ex yet!
