yea, i said it had more stock hp based on what i knw from dirtwheels when they did an exhaust shootout for a raptor, they said it has 22hp stock and in a later issue they said a 400ex made 25-28 and what i said about my 440 beating a raptor is a statement made from what i've heard and not from what i've done and no, i have not modded my 400ex yet but i am currently in the process of it, the entire quad is apart getting revamped by yours truly

It depends on what kind of racing and who's doing the riding too. These topics get pretty meaningless when you go watch some racing. Faster in a straight line drag?, Faster on an MX track? Faster in TT racing? Faster in XC?

I have watched my son's 250X/350X conversion win some races against 440 ex's, 495 ex's, 686 Raptors, modded Banshees and 250/265/440r's. I have also watched him lose to the same bikes on a different day.......

Sorry to burst your bubble but a raptor makes a lot more than 22hp stock, they're in the mid 30's.

Go to Yamaha web site and check out dyno results for stock Raptor....it's around 38HP. Even take away a few it's still a far, far cry from 22HP. Anyway, I don't bleed blue...I'll ride the wheels off anything I can get my hands on.

Hey guys, I just went out and bought K&N filter, jets, and White Bros. R4 exhaust for my 04' Raptor. Hope it helps to unleash some of it's potential.
