i have a 400ex 03 just bought new and when i rev it i can hearsomething in the motor not a cling or anything do u guy have this i don't really know how to explain the bike is stock

 

air cooled bikes make alittle noise. can you give some sort of detail about the noise? It's probably the valves, I just adjusted the valves in mine and the start making a little noise when it gets hot.

 

i'm glad you found the honda forum, lol, i was in teh yamaha and came across this same one too, there is really nothing wrong if its a new quad and stock, i have one , it sounds pretty much like a normal sounding atv, but if you hear like a odd noise,,, i would reccomend you ask ur local dealer, or give more SPECIFIC detail

it might be time for the valve adjustent

 

do i have to adjust the valves on a new bike and i seems to be idling high do i lower the idling thing ... The noise is just like a loud idling noise when i rev it i don't think it's much but i never had a new biike before does your guys bikes vibrate whena t high rpm and is their a smooth trottle palce when you are in fifth it ride really smooth and one trottle place

 

i don't know if it a n odd noise cause i never had a new bike before

 

are you new at riding?, b/c maybe you left the choke on or something, and or just call ur local shop and ask.....
