Should I sell my 250R?
#1
I currently have a 1986 250R in really good condition. It even still has the prolink stickers on the swingarm. I am about to put a downpayment on a 450R at my local dealer. I cannot decide if I should sell the 250R to make purchasing the 450R easier. Some people tell me i should stick it away in the garage, put a tarp over it, and forget about it. Other people say sell it...I cannot decide...please post your opinion

I agree...i am just tired of dumping money into it...i want something sportier than my foreman but with the reliablility of a 4 stroker....it was my late brothers bike...and there is a lot of sentimental value to it...besides being a wicked fast bike...as much as i want to sell it to make the purchase of a 450R easier....i know that it will end up in the barn with a tarp over it

Wow an even stronger case. Since it has sentimental I would most certainly not sell it. In fact if you and your brother where pretty close I would never sell it unless a medical or family emergency type reason came up. I;ve sold many things in the past I wish I would have kept. Although it made newer items easier to get it just wasn't worth selling an oldie.

yes...this was his bike....he just purchased a ktm 200ex and his friend was riding one of his 250R's, this one, behind him when he was hit head on by some guy in a dodge truck that had been drinking and didnt have his lights on late in the evening....there is nothing more that embodies him than a big chevy truck and a 250R.
here is a page about him:

so i guess i cant sell it

Excellent page on your brother. Sounds like someone I really would have like to known. He was enthusiastic about everything he did and loved to learn from what I read.
