Default D1 or D2

On the Rubicon which one is for Speed and which one is for Torque. I asked the dealer when I bought it and he just gave me a half answer like he didn't know what he was talkin about. In the manual it says D1 is for performance and D2 is for "minimum traction situations." Confusin if you ask me...Thanks

I use d2 like overdrive on long trails to save gas. D1 is for power going up hills and things. Thats what I was told anyhow I'm still not sure myself. D1 has a lot better engine braking than D2!

Yeah D1 does brake better...guess that means it is geared lower for better torque? I ride mine in D1 all the time anyways...I cant hardly tell a difference in them. I parked mine at the bottom of a hill and seen which one went up it the easiest...seemed like D1 but not really by that much...went up the easiest in low though...lol
