I read in dirtwheels that a stock XR400cam will drop right in a 400EX. Has anybody done this?
I ordered one yesterday, with a JE 10:5:1 piston.
Will my cam work. Please Help!

From what I here you will loose torque but gain top end as the EX cam is geared for a heavy quad with more torque.. let us know

It does work and rumor has it that it is the same as the 450/451.

I bought a used 450/451 cam but haven't installed it yet. I got it cheap but now I'm wondering if I should have gotten the XR400 cam instead. From what I've heard, it sounds like they are the same grind. Another factor is that the XR400 cam is supposed to have the decompression feature like the stock 400EX cam. Does anybody know why they take the decompression device off on the WebCam 450/451? Is it better to have it or not to have it if you're going to run 10/1 or 11/1 compression?
