440ex top speed?
I'm with you BB .. My own Warrior, despite the BS calls I will undoubtably get, will acheive 68mph, with enough room. It doesn't happen quickly with stock gearing. Even now with 12/40 gearing I can hit almost 62. Those speeds are according to my trailtech speedo, which some people here have tested against GPS's and found accurate. So for a 440 to be hitting 70-75, I think it's quite possible. No doubt it won't get there as fast as a bansh, or a rappy, but I'm sure it will get there.

I got a stock 03' 400Ex, my brother-in-law the cop shot me at 69 mph stock. I would imagine that 70-75 isn't out of the question for your improvments. But it isn't just the top speed, it is how quick it gets there. It takes me a 1/8 of a mile to open up my stock 400EX. Where as with a Shee, just hit it, click the shifter up five times, and you are there man.................. But top end isn't everything.

I agree with tprender people think that if they have 75 hp they are really fast, I dont think so you could have 1,000hp and top out at 25mph its all in the gearing and tire size, but you need more hp to change sprockets... Only thing more hp will get you is to your top speed faster!!
Also the kid with the 400ex has done nothing to the gearing!!

So now you guys are saying it wont go any faster unless you change the gearing or tire size top end? Lets see you now have 40cc's more displacement, you are feeding it more fuel on the top end, and you have a more aggressive cam. I think you might want to rethink this a couple of you guys.

bb, all the power in the world wont get you any more speed withought at least a higher rev limit. Sure, you will get to the top speed faster, but you wont go any faster. Ie: stock 400ex Vs a built to the hilt 440 minus a rev box. If both are running the same gearing, and tires...the speeds wil be identical..assuming the riders weights are identical, surface, and other conditions are all identical.
the reason for modding is not to directly make you any faster..the modding allows you to pull a taller gear so you can go faster, while retaining the ability to get there quick.
