However- it's a fact that the 300ex has 2 valves
ahahahaaa! kwackermann, where the hell did you get your info? the 250 has the same wheelbase as the 300. it also has a 4 valve head, no doubts about it.

Have we pulled our head yet to see if we have 4 valves on the 300ex? It's gospel that there are 2 valves on a 300ex.

Your gospel is wrong.

Hit the link below and then hit model year 1999, then hit trx300ex, then camshaft, 4 valves are shown.

On that site it even says "Qty Required 2" beside intake valve and exhaust valve. #8 and #9 on the price sheet.

I thought the 250x and the 300ex both had 2 valves considering they only have one header pipe coming out of the motor. If you look at a Raptor and a DS650 they have dual header pipes comming out of the motors and they each have 2 exhaust valves but the Raptor is a 5 valve (3intake, 2 exhaust) but only a SOHC. The DS650 has a 4 valve head (2intake, 2 exhaust) but is a DOHC which is supposed to get the RPM's up quicker than a SOHC. Same thing with the 400ex. The 400ex has dual header pipes comming out of the motor and it is a SOHC 4 valve. Does that help??? Look for the obvious. They have the dual header pipes so the motors can breather better. Tell me y they would put a single header pipe on a 4 vlave motor???
