i just want to see what you people think is faster.

i think it's the same machine it seems pretty alike

 

the 250x is really more than 250 ccs and it has a about 2 0r 3 more horses than a 300ex. thus the 250x = faster.

sorry to say but the 250X istn faster and its luckly 1 HP more... and look at the 250 TB 2 stroke its running 22 HP at the crank, but the 300ex beats sorry but HP isnt everything

I am not to sure what you guys have been smoking, but I would love a hit of some of that shuff!
The 250x is a 4 stroke and it has the same motor and frame as a 300ex. The 300ex is bored and stroked a bit, and it takes the 250x.
I am pretty sure it makes a few more horse than the x too. I had a friend with a 250x the thing has took a kickin and kept on tickin.
THE 250X's AND THE 300EX'S ARE THE SAME QUAD GET OVER IT!!!
THERE BOTH HONDA QUADS AND ARE TANKS AS LONG AS YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM!!

OK, since No one seems to really know what is going on, here is the real story.
The frames are the same. I own a 87 250x and a 97 300ex, and I dont see any difference
The 250X is 246cc
The 300ex is 282cc
Their Bore is the same, but the 300ex has a longer stroke. 57.3mm for 250x, 65.5mm for 300ex
Both have 4 valves
They weigh nearly the same. 300ex=377lbs 250X=362lbs
Suspension travel is the same for both.
I havnt raced them together yet, but I am taking them to Glamis Next week and I will find out. The 300ex has a WB E-series pipe, K&N filter, and air box lid removed.
The 250X has a Super trap exhaust, and Uni filter.
My bet is that the 300ex is faster. 36cc bigger and only 15 pounds heavier

Ive been dealing with these machines since there inception and heres my best shot
250x has 600rpm higher rev limiter which gets it about 1mph higher top speed
250x has stiffer springs and shocks and would be better for jumping but more harsh to trailride
frames and suspension are built on the same jigs and are the same
250x has adjustable camber on front a arms
300ex engine is the same exept for a longer stroke giving it a few more ccs and no compresion release and the obvious electric starter feature.
you can install a 250x side cover on a300ex for a kickstarter backup very easily
250x stock muffler is freer flowing
handle bar plastic has a different keyswitch mounting
reverse levers are a little different but work the same
the plastics are the same but came in different colors 1987 grey ,1988 white,1992 blue/white, 1994 and after red and black with a multitude of decal changes (bold new graphics)
the 300ex choke is much harder to find than the 250x with the starter in the way
They are a great beginner quad but with the 400ex out and going so cheap I would get a 400ex unless reverse is a must otherwise it would be a waste of money to spend thousands hopping up a 300ex to get the great suspension and reliable power of the 400ex.
If you think a 300ex wheelies easy stock you should try one with a 406 stroker engine. The stock chassis just isnt wide or long enogh for serios power without longer a arms ,swingarm ,shocks

I have owned a 1992 250X and it was indeed faster than 300EXs (stock vs. stock of course) however the difference is so little it comes down more to if you want electric start or not.
