300ex vs 250x
You guys must be kidding or just plain to lazy to go to service hondas web site and look it up in the parts diagram where its right there for all to see. Look up hard parts 300ex,camshaft. It shows one cam with 2 lobes running a single rocker arm for in and ex which has a valve bridge built into it to actuate both intakes and both exhausts. The 400ex uses the same style setup and so did the 350x 3 wheeler this info is nothing new or secret. The 300ex blends both exhaust ports into one to save a couple bucks by only having to build one header pipe.

They have already proved the 300EX and 250X have 4 valves. My SP500 has 4 valves and it only has a single header pipe. There are many other utilities that have 4 valves and they all use just one header pipe. You are probably right that the dual header pipe flows more air, but the 300EX is also known to make a good amount of power by just adding an aftermarket pipe to it. This is probably because the header is more restrictive because of it being a single header.

OK- so far so good. Tommorow I'm gonna go to a Honda Dealer and look for myself. Just can't believe that even a dealy brochure wouldstate that it has 2 valves. Oh- and by the way, Slacker- did you pull the valve adjustment covers? I'll keep y'all posted on what I find out...........

i was looking at my friends 300ex head that i had apart the other day, believe us, its 4 valve!
are you thinking of the 250ex? that has two valves.
also, honda manuals and brochures have been known to have mistakes in them. i can probably find at least one misprint in each of my honda oem service manuals.

So that about 20 people for 4 valves and 1 person for 2 valves.
At least he has conviction.
I have seen some wrong stuff in those manuals as well. The pics in the motor section of the 300ex manual shows a 2 valve head in one place, then shows a 4 valve head in another place. Don't know why. It certainly doesn't help the certainty of it, unluss you have seen the valves with your own 2 eyes, or is it 4 eyes. Nevermind, bad joke
