In the August ATV Rider the Z250 won -- hands down...

 

Stock for stock the 250EX will NOT outrun a Lakota. Been there done that. The Z250 will not beat a Lakota, either. Done that as well. Now that I have mods. either will not come close...stock. There was a shootout a while back that had a Lakota and a 250EX in it along with a Trailblazer and 1 other that I can't recall. The shootout also revealed the Lakota would outrun it topend and in a drag. Also, they stated the MUCH longer suspension travel of the Lakota really outperformed the EX, too. However, the Lakota is quite a bit heavier than the EX. I would not take and EX over my Lakota any day. I feel that it out performs it in all areas. If I were a smaller, younger guy, the EX would be better because it's lighter, but that it's only advantage, IMO. My close buddy has a Z250.

For you guys that say "smack it badly", "hands down", and such, get a clue and get out and race one because that is severely inaccurate. Even the rags state that the Lakota is quicker and faster.

Too, funny, how the EX NOW outperforms the Z250, when before the Z250 outperformed the EX. WTF??!

 

I heard that all the mags are saying the 250EX is better than the Z because of the release of the honda 450R

 

It's all about money. Sad, but true.

 

The August ATV Rider didn't say that. It had the 250ex as #2....
