Obviously the demand is high and they can sell if for MSRP or higher, no problem. To out sell the other guy, you lower your prices. I talked to a friend who works for a dealer and found out that the dealer's price is somewhere around $5600.00. They would love to make as much profit of them as possible, of course. If you sell a lot of them by being lower then everywhere else you may make more. So, since I am buying 2 of these, maybe I can save a couple hundred dollars by working the dealers a little. If not so be it, I still want them. It's a lot of money, and if i can get a deal then I will feel better about paying so much.

TRX440, You can call BS on whatever you want. If your smart enough to pay list price or more, have at it. Buy a couple of them from these price gouging thiefs. I know 5 people that are getting 450R's from 3 different dealers and none of them are paying list price. Maybe the midwest needs more competition!

the fact is, this bike is in incrdedibly high demand and the dealers could sell them all for 8k and people would still buy them. Sure a lot of us would wait or buy something else, but there are people out there who only want a Honda and they will pay anything to get the 450r. So I too find it hard to believe that people are getting these bikes below list price. All the dealers in San Diego have told me there is no way they will come down under 7k. I'm supposedly getting one in LA for 6799 otd, we'll see if they're lying or not. I'm not saying I don't believe you guys who are paying less I just don't see why a dealer would do that, but congrats and I hope they all arive soon!

Taken from Lakehills site:
OVER 40 YEARS OF SALES AND SERVICE!!!
AT LAKE HILL, WE HAVE NO HIDDEN CHARGES SUCH AS DEALER FREIGHT, DEALER PREP, OR ASSEMBLY.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT BANK DRAFTS OR CREDIT CARDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE MACHINES
There ya go Fast440, it is out the door price. It is obvious that these guys deal in high volume. By keeping prices low, the customer will always come back, and word of mouth is the best advertising.

I wasn't going to post but what the he11. I reserved mine a week and a half ago. I got mine for $6500.00 OTD with tax, title, dealer prep. Everything. Now I agree that the dealer can get more but my circumstances may be a little different. I'm getting mine from the same dealer that sold me the Moto440 that I took a royal freaking bath on so the sales manager is trying to do something for me even though that whole Cannondale fiasco wasn't his fault. In fact I solicited him for the Cannondale. This is the kind of thing people do in buisness to promote long term loyal customers and referrals. I'll just be happy to get the dam thing and wish it came out a year ago. Then I wouldn't have gotten burned by Cannondale. It's gonna be so nice to be back on a Honda after 17 years. :-)
