My friend has a 00' foreman 450ES. And is looking for a oil filter. Does anybody have a number for a wix or fram filter? Any help would be much appreciated.

Have your friend check the two below links out. I would recommend going with WIX(CLICK HERE)
. I am sure after he/she views the links, they will be going with WIX(Oil Filter Survey). Find out if the 450 uses the same filter as the 400EX. If so, this is the number of the WIX filter I buy: 24944 (think the 944 is the actual number). Here is the genuine Honda 400EX number if you want to cross-reference it with the 450: 15412-HM5-A10. The WIX cost $5 and the Honda cost $5.98. Let me know of the outcome.

The oil filter for most Honda ATV's are the same. The filter for the 300 4X4 is the same as the 400ex for example. Check with your local dealership to check this out for your 450. The Fram part # is CH6015. I have used a couple of them and they seem to be a quality product. The previous post about the filter test is interesting, but not for ATV's. Hope this helps!

I used to use Fram, but after reading the survey, I decided to switch to WIX (ATV wise). I still have about 4 extra Fram filters lying around that I bought for my Toyota Tacoma (auto wise), but after I use them up, I'll switch to WIX. I fully believe, "You get what you pay for" in this case. Maybe the brand filter, when dealing with ATVs does not matter, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I am still paying less than I would to purchase the genuine part.

I worked in a parts store for six years. A week ago I was in there and their WIX representive was there. I had noticed on the WIX filter 24944, that it says "made in Canada". I knew WIX didn't have a plant in Canada. I ask the representive where they came from then. He made a few phone calls and then told me that WIX bought the filters from Honda.
I know that the 400EX and the 450ES use the same filter, as well as the 300 4X4, the trx250, atc250sx, atc250es.
Just for the record: Cut a Fram filter apart sometime. Then tell me if you want it filtering your oil.

Ha! Kirk, you're a blessing in disguise. Thanks for the info. This was one of those things that you kind of knew, but just weren't sure of. Thanks again for the confirmation. I did not realize the WIX filter was actually made by Honda. I figured it would be the other way around if anything. Oh! Well. I am buying them $1 cheaper
