Default XR400R vs a CRF450R

I know this is a ATV fourm, but I though you guys might help me desied what to buy. I am going to change the bike into a on road, off road bike and do alot of road riding, trail riding and mabye a little dune riding. I know there is a considerable price difference in the two, but I kinda think the liquid cooled bike would be more reliable, what do you guys think? I want the most reliable bike.
What do you's think the speed difference would be, could you actually top these bikes out on the dunes???

has anyone had any problems with either??

anyone selling one fer cheap??

haha

Maybe you should look at the Suzuki DRZ400L ( I think that is the model), its there dual purpose bike with more emphasis on the trail riding then on road riding, it is suppose to be one of the best dual purpose bikes you can get.

For reliability, there's no question about it- the XR400 wins. I think the XR400 would be a better, more fun trail machine also. But if you are serious about your speed, then get the CRF450. The XR400 should be easy enough to find at a very reasonable price. As far as top speed goes, in stock trim I would bet that they both top out at around 75mph on blacktop. But sprockets will deffinately need to be changed for a higher gear ratio on the street. This place should be able to furnish you with all you need--- https://www.bajadesigns.com/
