Default My quad dies

Well right now my batterys dead, so me and my friend decided to try to push start my 300ex, so we would have it going and it would start and i would give it gas and it wouldnt increase or decrease in speed, and than i put my clutch in and it would just die. Does anyone have any clue what a problem is with it?

Well you dont have enough info to diagnose it over the net yet but try this.

A gas engine has some basic things that you can check to eliminate potential problems and then reduce them till you find the problem.

Is it getting gas? Spark? air into the carb or is the filter dirty? Without these three things it wount start or run right etc.

hope this helps get you started and maybe even running

Well im pretty sure it is getting gas, but im wondering if the needles is stuck out of position which causes the throttle not to respond, which i will check out when i decide not to be as lazy. I also am gonna check the spark plug. I also think i had bad gas, because we put some into my friends DB, and it stopped it from working. So im going to drain it sometime this week, and replace the gas.

What did your battery go dead from? They are a little bitchy to bumstart cold, try using the choke and using, that acclerator pump, just hit the gas a few times as if to prime it and pop the cluctch and she should start. If is doesn't work you are having wiring problems it sounds like. I would try getting a new battery and seeing if that fixes it.

Have you tried charging it? Does you battery getting power to your starter, is it going buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and not turrning over.
I will check back here tommrow.

Drain and change gas from tank lines and carb. Carb probably needs to be cleaned too. Clean or replace air filter, change the sparkplug, should really have the valve lash adjusted too, while your at it change the oil and get a new battery.

basically just a really good tune up.
