My friend has a hopped up 300ex..so he says it has a lot of mods. bored over .20 and new cam...i think thats it. He thinks he can whoop me in my (soon to come) 400ex just with a pipe. I raced him on my kodiak (tops at 55mph) and i stayed right with him untill he hit 5th, lol. He thinks his will hit over 70mph. Is this possible? Just wondering, i don't think hes that fast.

 

Bet him everything you have. With a new cam and a first overbore a 300ex will still be 10 horse short of a piped 400ex. But please get it on video

 

He's probably not going to hit 70...Wistech you dont think the 300 will beat him with all that stuff in his bike?

 

If all he has is a cam and a new piston, then the 400ex is gonna walk all over it. The 300ex doesnt sound all that "hopped" up. There had better be some more mods that weren't listed. Like a pipe, open air box, porting, etc.

 

Are you kidding ? I had a 406 stroker,with cam/springs ,oversized valves,35mm lectron carb,race port,exhaust and it was just a little faster than a stock 400ex and even with a piped one. So to answer your question I think there is no way in heck it will even be a close race.

 

Do you guys like 400ex's? Personally i love em, just wish they had reverse

 

who needs reverse, turn the wheels give it some throttle tap the front brakes a bit and your turned around in 6 feet of space

 

reverse is a must, 6 feet is hard to come by in tight woods, want to be able to go with the bikes

 

Well a 300ex with those mods wont win a race against a piped 400ex, but reverse isnt a must by any means, if it isnt easy to find 6 feet to kick it around, then your chances of making a 3 point turn around prolly arent any good either, and if you dont have enough room to kick it around, then get off, pick up the back end of the quad and pull it around, i dont think anyones to puny to do that, or i hope not.
