I'm looking to put new mud tires on my Rancher and Foreman. I also want a tire that runs well on dirt trails and oil well roads. I don't care about going taller i would still like to use the same rims. Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks,

i haven't brought mud tires for a while(don't have a 4x4 anymore, now on a 250x)....i had surtraks on my 4x4.....they wore real well i thought....did a lot of gravel, tar seal and mud work with them (on a dairy farm).....i was impressed with the way they went....now i have alltraks (maxxis) on my 250x.....am also impressed with them....
my 2 cents
go hard

Without question these are the finest mud tires our club has found. We have guys that run these on warriors, 250R's etc. They chew up mud like crazy. Well worth it.

They are Sand Tires Unlimited "MUD MACHINE"

go to "www.rockymountainatv.com

select catalog, tires(ATV), scroll down to the mud machines.

I have Goodyear Muddrunners on my 99 Sportsman.I liked them so much that I bought a set for my 00 Xplorer. Now this is a REAL mud tire.It will take you in the murkiest of all mud and the nastiest of all snow. They also deleiver a great ride on hardpack. The Super Swamper Vampires are a great mud tire to,they ride somewhat stiffer than the Mudrunners though. There is a new mudder out called the ''OUTLAW''.You owe it to yourself to check out them tires to.Good Luck,===Bill

i would suggest the cheng shin jackals dirt wheels tested them on a rancher in the june 2000 issue on page 50 they said they worked real well in the mud and they might fit on your stock rims or if you want a real good mud tire go with greenballs dirt devils they work real well in the mud.

Many off our club members use the Maxxis Sur Trak, it seems to clean pretty good. I have also seen bearclaws & Mud Runners.

I am looking at the Sur Traks for my rancher after I upgrade the wifes Recon & the kids E-ton.

I was in your shoes a few months ago and decided on the Bearclaw. It is GREAT! I go through twice the mud and water that I could with the stock Goodyears. The difference bewtween the stock tires is amazing!
Also look at the Super Swamper Vampire (rough ride though) and the Spider Trac (used to be the Dick Cepic). The Blackwater by ITP is also worth looking at. Tires are difficult to decide on because of all the choices.
Chaparral Racing was the best price and they are on the back cover in Dirt Wheels magazine.
