My friend has a 400EX with a JUST a performance cam and air filter, I've watched him smoke countless banshees. Banshees are a 350 if I'm not mistaken and that's way more than half the size of the 400. Hell, if it makes any difference, he beat a banshee with his CRF450 dirtbike, and that's only 100cc's less.
I'm not sure you understand displacement. 2-stoke displacement cannot even be compared to that of 4-strokes. Because basically what you're saying is that the Banshee is only a 350 so a Warrior (also a 350), but 4-stroke, should be able to hang near the Banshee.
Dirt bikes and quads don't even belong in a race together. Dirt bikes have the advantage in almost every way. Flat, straight races may be in favor of the quad but that's about the only instance. I hope your freind didn't pride himself too much on that win.

whats wrong with honda? im not crazy about their cars or utility quads but they make a damn good sport quad, i owned a yamaha first and i was as happy with it as i am my honda. there isnt really any bad quad companys and anyone who bashes a single company is ignorant (im talking to you 7540875048), nice nicknme by the way, was that your prison number? i bet you miss your boyfriend in jail

You kids never spot do you? Come on people who gives a Rats A$$ whos quad is better they all lack something somewere.... I really dont like Honda but thats my opinon, do i bash others for their choice of brand no!! Do i think yamaha is better no do i think honda is better no, really who cares.... ride what makes you happy and have fun thats what its all about...

I'm not so sure the honda will fare so well at the local tracks with less than a pro rider. But just my past experience tells me Honda will make the 450 win regardless of its racefullness. Screw ragging on honda and yamaha. Have some of yall forgotten polaris.
p.s. yamaha had the ***** to keep making the banshee even after the lawsuites. they never backed away from the high performance quad market and that is something that should be respected. They also stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun with the new yfz450. two strokes will always be here too. as long as there are after-market companies making parts for them they will be here.
one more thing. would honda have created the trx450 if yamaha hadn't made the yfz450 first? think about that one.
