What is on the podium each year?? Hmmmmm, I do not think that it is the 250R... The hondas are great bikesa but they must move over for the big boys every once in a while...... Another High horse power/precision handling area is Pikes Peak......... Hmmmmm Again we see the mighty TWINS soaking up all of the podium!! Hmmmm, They may be bored and stroked to a 450cc displacement but this is all that you see at the podium.... LOL, I am in wonder as to what a 400EX would be there?? LOL, it would probably not be much different than comparing an atc 200x to an atc 70!!!!!LOL............... Yeah the 400EX has its place, but up against a Banshee is not one of them..... you guyz forgeting about the best sport quad ever ( in my ooppinion)...
dont compare any shee or any rapy to the 250r a modified 250r will beat ANY yami quad on trails and racing and lots of places

Very well said Ridley!!! The banshee I was referring to was Doug Eichners who used the banshee frame, I think the Outlaw banshee frame!!! But definately of Banshee Geometry!!! Very excellent post Ridley!!!

Wasnt Suzuki first on 4 wheels??? LOL!!! If I'm not mistaken, didnt Yamaha keep that alive with the Banshee, where was Honda at during those years after the 250r was discontinued?????? I love all brands, but give credit where credit is due....Yamaha had the ***** to keep the Banshee on the Market while Honda curled up scared from the Lawsuits!!! Honestly, Honda still hasnt built a machine in the Atv world capable of beating the banshee in acceleration until now with the CRF450R which I know in a drag of short distances would beat the ole faithful banshee!!! Honda is definately first in innovation, but all out performance, they are dead last!!!! How many sport machines does honda have on the market??? ? 2???? What about Kawi 3? Zuki?? lol 1, AC? 1, Polaris? 3 or 4? What about Yamah??? Warrior, Wolverine( which is sold as a sport unit), Blaster, Banshee, Raptor, YFZ!!! 6!!!!!!! You tell me 6 sport machines versus the 2 currently from Honda, 300ex (OH NO WATCH OUT FOR THAT GUY) or the outdated and definately overrated 400ex!!!

........ Where would we be today without Honda kicking off ATVs in the first place? Or bringing us back out of the deep dark '90's with the 400ex?

We would probably still be in the same place we are now!! Because Suzuki kicked off with the QUAD performance arena in 85-92 with the advent of the LT 250.... Honda followed suit in 86-89 with the glorified TRX 250R, Yammer Jammer felt left out and dared to be different and created the MIGHTY TWIN in 87.... BUT YAMMER JAMMER NEVER QUIT MAKING THE TWIN nor the twins lil brother da blaster for that matter!! Honda gets scared and tucks their tail between their legs and hides out from the performance arena until 98 and gets back inot it with the little 400EX (if you can call that a performance bike, uh not sure< I guess it depends on your definition of performance.... LOL, personally my definition of performance is a lot higher than a 400EX [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img].....
I will admit however, that when one purchases a Shee frechly off the showroom floor that it is toned too far down for the likes of anyone with the exception of a veteran 400EX rider...... I thought that mine was a POS until I dropped a lil CHEDDA off into it.... But ofcourse all bikes are POS until they have some chedda dropped off into them!!! BUT the Shee is a true FREAK once you drop off a coupla GGG...... hey im not trin to bash yamaha, but nothing on dougs banshee was original, except possibly the frame, but guess nothin on these new mx bikes are originalgr, im talkin normaly modded bikes with stock steering stems, stabilizers, suspension exct. the banshee handling sucks compared to a stock honda or suzuki, thats why i compared to riding it in the woods, and on the mx track. not everybody has a banshee hopped up like dougs.
