Sounds like the float might be sticking in the carb while its parked. it may have a little trash under the neeedlekeeping it from seating and letting the gas run straight into the cylinder while its at rest. Have you ran it out of gas recently that can cause a problemc like this. Try turning off the gas every time you shut it off fora while and see if the problem stops. If it does then its a carb problem

someone told me the other day that you can get oil in your gas by standing your quad up. Is this true? I assumed if you turn the gas off there would be no problems.

That may happen if its difficult to start and you have to try multiple times to get it to go.

If its getting gas in with the oil their is a good chance that it is running rich.. And gas is going past the rings... Make sure your carb is adjusted correctly...

usually when you have a problem with gas in oil, its from a sticking choke plunger. but then, i am not familiar with the set up on your bike. if it has a fuel enrichner type choke , a sticky cable or lever or plunger spring can cause overfueling while riding, and flooding when setting for a while.
