atvoutfitters.com look for the Rachet Winch. Looks great and you can hook it to any of your ATVs. $50.00

Check out Harbor Freight Tools (Think it is WWW.Harborfreight.com). They have a smaller winch (1500 or 2000lbs) that they sell for $50 on sale. Looks like a superwinch by design, but is VERY inexpensive and worth a shot.
Good luck

One problem that arises while looking for a winch for a Recon is that most models don't have a mounting plate available. Although I think that the extra weight does hurt the handling of the Recon. I will suggest the same cheap 2000 lb winch I always do. (Also comes in a 1500 and 3000) The Tusk 2000 lb winch sells for $110.00 and the (CMP) mount & fairlead are around $75.00. Tusk is a brand name from Rocky Mountain and you can see it at Rockymountainatv.com. Just type Tusk into the search block and then scan down to the winch listing.

Rocky Mountain should give me a discount for the amount of times I've suggested this darn winch. Their sales probably jump a little each time.

I have been considering a winch for the Rancher. I would take a good look at the Black Max Ratchet Winch. Everything else would be awfull heavy for the little Recon.

The mount for the Recon is just a flat piece of metal that sits on top of the frame in the front. It is bolted to the frame with a clamp. The bolt runs down through the metal mount and then the clamp (4). Then the fairlead bolts to the pushbar with two more clamps. Really a simple setup. The winch is bolted to the mount with two bolts.
