High Speed Wheelies

hondaracer, Do you think those guys had pretty stock machines? Or do you think they had plenty of mods to play with those wheelies like they did?
i have a 01' 400ex and i have a hard time getting the nose up. i sit pretty regular and have tried gunning it from a stop, and bogging it a little bit. neither seem to work for me. can a SLIGHTLY slippy clutch jack your wheelies up? or does the clutch need to be slipping quite a bit before it will effect you enough?

Those guys on the video had some kind of custom made grabbars, the white one looked like it had a CT silencer on it, other than that i think they were stock. I think if your clutch was in great working condition, you would have no problem at all to lift up the front end, from what dirtwheels said on their website, the 400ex is the best wheelie machine. for me, sitting regular will pop it right up, but if i were you, i would stand on the grabbar and ride some wheelies before riding them sitting down so you can get a good feel of the balance point, then move to sitting down. thats what i did and somehow, i feel like i can ride them much easier. post if you have anymore questions.

400quad.
I have problems keeping my front end down, when im drag racing. I have to sit way up on the gas tank just to keep it down but then it's hard to get traction. The 400ex has to be the easiest quad to wheelie.
From a dead stop be in 1st gear...rev it up about 1/4-1/2 throttle and dump the clutch. You'll be able to tell if your nose is up.

today i managed to get it all the way up by standing on it. i only rode it about 30' standing on it. tried it in the sit possition and managed to get it up too. just took a little more effort.
i have no problem gunning it and spinning the wheels to no end on dirt, but i have to shift my weight to the back of the seat and lean back to get it up.
also, the guy i got my Ex from had rode on hard surface and grinded down the grab bar. is there any way to repair/replace it without replacing the frame? btw, the grab bar only has about 1/3 of itself remaining, and is it sharp!!
