i would recommend one but if you're gonna get a 440 kit and you actually wanna feel a power increase, you have to get a cam, porting and a new silencer, with just the 440 kit, cam and porting theres a noticable power difference

Yeah, EX's are really good....they are just slower then most every sport quad built.

They have like what, 27HP!

Every sport quad built that is 400 or bigger has more power/speed then the EX. You have to build one to a 440 just to run with a stock Raptor. I believe the choice between the EX and Raptor is easy. It's common sense.

Lol you have to build it to a 440 in order to beat a stock raptor? I have a 2k3 Raptor, and let me tell you. Ive never rode a built 440, but I have road some pretty nice 400's and they would take my raptor.

I'm not talking about the Raptor 90/80/50 or whatever it is.

I'm talking about the 660R.

Well im not sure about top end racing than. I opened my friends 400 up, and I felt more torque, but didn't get the chance to top it out.

400ex for sure. You can beat the living **** out of them...and she never will die. They get a little picky in the cold. But once you figure out how to start it in the winter so she'll stay running, then it's all good. I would go with a 400ex expecially since you used to ride a utility quad. the 400ex doesn't have reverse but don't worry about that. you'll get used to it.

Hey Yamaha 660R there is a movie i found on the net...That proves that the rappy does beat the 400ex but they are just about side by side and both are stock.

go to www.offroadhaven.com click on videos...then go down to Lynn Drag Strip

I've beaten a couple raptors with my 400ex. And if you look i don't have much done to it performance wise.....actually i don't have anything done to it performance wise....K&N doesn't give me any more performance.
