440ex reliability
#1
For all you 440ex owners out there I was wondering how reliable your quads are. If anyone has had to rebuild a 440 how long did it originally last. I've had my kit in for a year now with some pretty hard riding and it is still running good as new.

Ironrod, how well does your 440EX run? Can you outrun stock DS's or slightly modded?.... Let me know cuz I know a 440 can be built and go slower than hell or if built right can kick some serious a$$.

Well, I havent gone against any of the quads yet. When the weather gets better, I'll be getting some guys to run my EX for a drag or two. I've mentioned this before, but Chuck, a good friend who is also a motor builder, ran it and his words were that it pulled like a 686 Raptor. I simply can't believe the power. I was so happy I went out and purchased new plastic and a bunch of new billet parts for it!
I think if a guy were to follow what I did, he couldnt go wrong. That 13:1 JE piston is amazing. Its nice cuz I run the same race gas now as the DS with the 14:1 in it. Sometime in the future I'll have to dyno it.
