Welcome to the forums!
You will have no problems with the clutch, it will be second nature after like one ride. Also, it is a great trail machine, it can jump, and it won't be too small for you. My dad is 6'1" and 180 lbs and he is not cramped on mine. Some will say to take the 400ex, but remember that the 400 lacks reverse. Well, good luck if you get this quad! You won't be dissappointed!
BTW, I doubt you will hear from anyone that has owned a 300ex that they didn't/don't like it!

I'm an older guy-5'10", 160 lbs.-that now rides a ute, but would like to get a sport quad, also. Can't spend alot. Would I feel very cramped on the 300ex? Mostly ride forest/mountain trails. Warrior? 300ex? Enough juice? Thanks to all you experienced gents.

I'd have to say to get a 400ex, Im 5"6 127pds, and i have a 400ex n kfx400, you can find a stock used 01,02,03 for near 2,500-3,500. A 300ex would get old after u grow sum more but a 400ex is good till ur 40..
