what would removing the factory limiter do to it? how much more top speed would it give.and should i lighten my flywheel. allwork would be from profab atv

what would removing the factory limiter do to it? For one thing, make it a lot more likely to over rev, bend your valves, break your guides and in general make a mess of your head.

Would allow it to rev a bit faster, and reduce the flywheel effect, or engine breaking when you let off on the throttle. It could also throw your crankshaft out of balance, possibly increasing vibration. That's just a guess on my part 300racer, maybe somebody else on this forum has actually done it.

not good,would it pull alot harder or just a lil bit through the gears

acuttly it may increase top speed.... since the rev limiter stops it from reving any farther(acting as a governer), and if you could get the torque to pull it to max it out, it should be pulling the wheels faster increasing top end(if that makes sense). as far as relability im not sure because i havent ever used one, but quite a few people have

i think all of dzzy's pints are right and the rev limiter is there for a reason but we may be wrong
