Trouble with 400ex swing arm bushings
My buddy has a 2000 400ex and this past weekend the right swing arm bushing let go and was clunking really bad. We had trouble taking the long cross bolt out because it was corroded in the sleeve and found the bearings dry and rusty. Is there any way to grease these when the arm is on the bike for future maintenance. Also the axle bearings were starting to do the same thing (play and dry) any mait for that item also? thanks

Grease the bolt every couple months its pretty common for them to get froze. There are also some stainless steal bolts on ebay and some people make bolts with a zerk on the end so you can grease it without taking it out.
It could probly use some new bearings once a year or so. In the swingarm and in the axle carrier.

Me and my friends modified our bolts to add a greese fitting and it works great.
1) Tap both ends of the bolt.
2) Drill holes through the bolt where you want the grease to flow out.
3) blow the metal out of the inside of the bolt
4) Thread in a bolt on one end and a fitting in the other end
5) Cut the end off the bolt and grind it flush
