I use to race a cr 500 back in high school, it is a power house, it and the cr 250 dont even compare in the motor world! That would be like putting a Pinto up against a Mustang!

I used to years ago have a CR500 and I would agree with the above statement because the CR500 power is outstanding but if I would pick today I would go with the CR250 because I feel like it is a better over all package.

I have ridden an 02 cr 250 and a 92 cr 500. If you are hill climbing go with the 500 but if you are just
screwing around the 250 is way lighter, easier to handle and can also climb hills decently fast.

Berner is correct. I own both and have to say the 500 is a monster that wears you out quickly but will do anything you have the ***** for. Don't like to ride it all day but it's fun to hop on and scare yourself with. The 250 is a great all around bike and will do just all types of riding easily without ripping your arms off.
