It appears the gauntlet has been thrown down.

Now don't disappear on us Gregsims.

I have said this before & will say it again. You can take a very good rider & put them on a average machine & they will spank a average ride on a good machine. The machines ability does count, but rider ability counts more.

This just sounds like fun to me. I don't know if I would be willing to let someone else run my brand new bike though. I don't want it beat up. Maybe my 98SP500. Although it is considerably faster than my new SP500.

BayouGrizz,
I would love to take you up on the offer. I just have to get the time and bribe my wife. You will beat me on the drag, but that is it. One of my Best friends has a 99Grizzly with spacers, 27"Triclaws, lift, snorkels, skidplate etc... The only place he can beat me is the Drag.
I will let you know.

Is there going to be a category for...

ergonomics?
comfort?
bold new grafics?
quality of ride?
best looking girlfriend?
freestyle?
appearence?
rider distance from vehicle after crash?
riders ability to match clothing colors with atv color?
and finally, who has the coolest trailer?

because I think I could be in the running in a couple of these.

If not, then I will just be happy reading your results.

I hope your Grizzly does better than my friends Wolverine. I have a 400 explorer, and I outran him(Easilly), took corners better, and it took him almost twice the space to turn around as me.
Now if that sport 4wd won't out-turn, out-run, and out-handle my utility atv that weighs 600lbs, that is sad. I would hate to see what a Scrambler would due to it. then I doubt the Grizz. will outdue the 500.

Why is your 00sp500 so much faster than your 98sp500?

Honda4dan,
If you will look at my post, I said the 98SP500 is faster. Idon't know why. It is completely stock. It will ride a wheely in high or low on flat ground. I didn't think it would, and one day I gunned it and pulled up. It stood straight up and cracked the composite cover on the back rack. Sometimes you just get a cherry from the factory.

I am selling it because I have gone through 1 axel and two ujoints in the last 5 months. The only reason I had to replace the axel is the u-joint broke and damaged it. The u-joints are only $13 but it is a pain. Besides I got permission from my wife to get a New Yellow SP500. Also my old clutch was rattling because the buttons were worn and I put a new $300 clutch in it. I know I could have just replaced the buttons, but I intended on keeping it at the time and didn't want problems.

It has new brakes also.

I know there aren't alot of Rubicons around yet. Lets open this competiton up to:

Artic Cat 500
Foreman 450
Grizzly 600
Kodiak Prairie 400
Suzuki 500
Bombadier

And any other big bore utility. It would be fun to report back times from all of these. We can do it next week end and Fun Wheeler.

Don't be scared.

Wish I could make it down even if it was just to observe. Looks to be a quite interesting sight and competition. Gotta work this weekend and that's a long ways down from northern UT/southern WY.

Good luck and let's see the results. Have fun and be safe.
