i like all 250R's, sure the 88-89 might be better, but they are all good and all real fast, it doesn't matter what year you get. another thing is if you are looking for a stock on, good luck, because they are real hard to find stock, and if you do find one stock, most people don't want to sell because they are collectors quads. also if you can't find a Honda 250R, i would say that you might try finding a Suzuki LT250R, they are about the same speed stock, all except for the 85-86 LT's, the big difference is handling, the Honda is a bit better, but with a little work to the Suzuki's suspension you can make it handle like the Honda. parts are easy to find for both of them, but there is a good bit more out there for the Honda, but you already have a LT. oh and yeah Kawi made the Tecate 4 back in those days that is like a 250R, but the parts are rare for them and the handling is one of the worst ever on a sport quad. Even though i would like to own a Tecate 4 just to have the collection of all 3 250 2strokes, i would not recommend getting a Tecate.
