Does anyone ride at Blackwood or Mt. Carmel? And live in the Harrisburg/Hershey area? I'm looking for new people to ride with.

i live a 1/2 hour from Mt. Carmel but i've never riden there. Try Treverton, there is a lot of trails with varied terrain and the biggest cole hills i've ever seen.

It it Trevorton. Take 73 to 61 then go through Shamokin to 225 and that will take you into Trevorton.

This area is well worth a two hour drive Exer_95, as I drive up from Maryland. It takes me 5 hours one way to get there, but PA riding is sweet! We usually park off of Gowen City Road. This runs between Trevorton and Gowen City. Gowen City is very small so it's easy to miss. The parking area is on the left if you are comming from Trevorton, at the top of a hill. It is a rocky tree shaded path that goes to an open area. I'll have to check out Mt.Carmel sometime. Say GAPracer, where are the coal hills there. Do you park/go to a different area? Do you ride the track that is laid out in the woods?

As your directions sound good. I looked at a map and Gowen City isn't next to Trevorton, and I can't see a raod that connects the two towns !! I would need a little better directions to this riding area !! Both theses areas sound great and hopefully will get some time to ride them both !!

Thanks
Jason

Exer_95, Here's how I go:
Take I81 north to the exit for PA901. Take the exit torward Lavelle,PA. As you come into town, there will be a quick mart/Texaco? place on your left, Turn left on the street immediately after it. This will be Gowen City Rd. Follow this, thru Helfenstein, then Gowen City and other small clumps of houses. 4-5 miles past Gowen City (maybe a little more), look for the area. The path I described earlier will be on your right (and harder to spot) from this direction. I have seen others park in other places past this path. This is just where I park.
Gowen City road is visible on a PA issued state map I have. Not labeled, but shown, good luck.
