I know with the 450r being out that the 400ex is kinda on the back burner but what is the going price on a 2004 400ex?I also heard that there was a carberetor upgrade for 2004.If so what is the difference between it and the older ones?

 

You can find it all on the Honda website. MSRP is $5299 currently. Difference in carbs is the 03 and before had a 35.5mm carb and the 04 has a 38mm carb. There has been debate as to whether this is correct or if it is a misprint - all I know for sure is those are the specs stated on the website.

You can really get a great deal on a new 400EX now. If you find the right dealer/salesman you should be able to get them well below retail. As for the specs on the carb, its also in the sales brochure in the dealers showroom as a 38mm. People with older 400EXs say its a misprint and don't want to believe it has a bigger carb and their augument was pretty convincing till I made a call to;

Procycle in Springfield MO is selling new 2003 400ex holdovers for $3999 out the door. They even still have some new 2002 300ex holdovers for $2999

 

Hey guys first post. this site is great! I just bought a new 2004 to replace a stolen 2001 trx 400 ex The price I paid was:4,699.00. Out the door w/ a ramp and k&n and taxes was 5155.00 here in Oklahoma.

 

the part number on the 04 carb is the same as the 03 and 99 models

It is a misprint
