Default Toe-in on 450 ES

Hi everbody, I'm having trouble understanding why the toe-in on my 2003 foreman es is supposed to be set approx at 1 9/16 toe out, I've never heard of toe out, has anyone, and can you explain why? My machine does steer harder at factory specs, when I change it to approx 1 to 1 1/4 toe-in, It steers like a dream. But I thought maybe this has something to do with the front differintial operation. Anyway would like some thoughts or logic to this. Thanks Slowleaks

Yeah I know Honda and Bomb (ski-doo) are the only ones that run there quads with toe out. They say that they track better on side hilling with toe out you can run it which ever way you want yo set it

If you look at my first picture, you can see another example of toe out. I think it looks a little excessive. I haven't measured mine yet but I do plan to bring it in a little. I have no idea why they do this. It's like I'm trying to go in two different directions at one time.

the spec in the manual is 1 3/8" plus or minus 9/16", toe out.

So does that mean that it can be set anywhere between 13/16" to 1 & 15/16" toe out? Mine must be set at the full 1 & 15/16".

Thanks Guys, I'm going to leave mine set with Toe-in for now because it sure steers easier. But I am going to check to see how many threads I have got inserted into the tie rod itself to make sure it won't be able to pull out. Again, thanks for the input. Slowleaks

Mine was toed out when I got it, I read the Clymer manual which says it should be toed in, so I set it to 16 mm toed in.
