Default 400 At Rancher Speed Problems

I just picked up a brand new 400 AT Rancher, and took it out for a real ride yesterday it has loads of power for water snow and such however its top end speed in automatic is 59 kilometeres per hour (36 miles per hour) and in ESP mode its 49 kilometeres per hour (30 miles per hour) and yes it is in 2 wheel drive mode, is there something im missing?

My Rancher AT has 53 miles and 18.7 hours on it. I have not driven it over 25 miles an hour. I am not going to push it until it has many more miles on it. I like to give the unit a chance to break in. I am not a speed demon and would not worry about top speed until you have put many more miles on it. Make sure you break it in slowly and I think you will see the speed increase.

Any other symtoms? This is wide open, in top gear? Does it sound all in? Missing or sputtering? Tires have at least 3 psi?

Its about half throttle it gets there quick but then its does sputter almost like backfire lots of throttle left but if I open it up it has no more speed sounds like its bogging down or missing a gear.

Bring it to the dealer, don't touch it yourself if it is brand new.

I've had mine up to 55mph on a long stretch of flat tar road, in automatic, 2 wheel drive. Something isn't right if its only getting up to 36.

Yes, i agree, take it back to the dealer, its possible it wasn prepped right. Carb could be misadjusted, air filter plugged, fuel line kinked or plugged, valves could be misadjusted, carb float level too low, even a defective coil.
Let us know what they find and fix.

I also have a 04 Rancher AT. I have been wondering the same thing about it.

I have refitted it with 25" BearClaws and my speedo has hit 71 km/hr (44 mph). Are the bigger tires robbing my precious mph's?
