Default Goin' camping

Yeap, you read right. I'll be heading out right after church Sunday morning. It's been too long since this Kentucky boy lived of the land. I plan on setting up some snares'n such. I'm not going to eat unless I kill something. Woohoo! It's gonna be freakn' cold too, yikes! Anyone got any cool little survival tips that might help me snare some game or a cool way to cook it? I'll probably only take with me; a good knife, a wrist rocket(sling shot) fully equiped with those cool little steel bearings, some booby wire, a good warm sleeping bag, a hatchet, fire starting materials, a skillet and some water. Knowing me, I'll probably just wuss out and drive home and cuddle up to the wife when it starts getting cold.

Any ideas?

How about your credit cards, they are good for living off the buffet table and in snaring a good motel room.HAHA.
I got a friend who actualy does this, we call him Mountain Man. I remeber one trip we took back into the mountains to go after spring blackbear and he only brought some cornmeal, salt, sugar and 3 pounds of bacon and he planned on killing fresh meat once we got set up. We went for a week and it was a good thing I always bring extra freeze dried meals or he would of starved. We saw one hare and he missed it with his muzzle loader and then we saw a sow Grizzly with cubs and he said he was not that hungry yet. When ever we go camping or hunting I always bring enough food to feed him in case he does not suceed in finding food in the wild.AlaskaBoy.

Okay, maybe I'll bring some 'taters or something. I sure hope I'm more successful than he was, there's jackrabbits all over the place down here. I expect them to be real gammy, I've only had cottontale- em em good.

wow! this sounds like fun..I've always wanted to do somethin like this. we used to make snares and traps all the time. when we were a bit younger we used to make our own teepee's, traps, boats(always sank) and pretty much our own lil town out in the woods lol...
Spearin fish is a b!tch man...cuz of the water, you stab right at it but the fish is always an inch to the left of where it actually seems.
anyways, the only way I'd eat fish doin this stuff was the cut from the butt hole to the gills...open the belly up..rip it out and scrape the black crap off the spine area..then butter it up real good in there after deslimin the fish and washin it, jam a stick down its throat and up ontop above the spine as far down as it will go and roast it on a fire. tastes great... another way we used to kill **** was w/ slings but it takes practice. more or less, a string w/ a pouch in the middle...both ends in each hang w/ a rock in the pouch. Whip that thing aroun n get some centrifugal(wtf?) force goin..and release! its real fun but kinda hard...actually hit a bird once but didnt kill it....lol tough little sucker

have fun!

Thanks Pimp, sounds like a good way to cook a fish. I forgot to say, I'll also be taking the guitar and of course one of the Quads- probably the 400. Gotta have some real fun.
