Default Help with 440 wiseco kit

I haven't yet installed a 440 kit in my 400ex but i will once i blow up my motor. i work at a local dealership and $400 seems reasonable, they charge about $60 an hour and about $70 or so for the boreing itself. depending on how far they have to tear the engine down depends on how long it will take. i havent looked into the 440 kit and if they come with a new rod or not but if they have to take the motor all the way open to see the crank and put in a new rod that alone will take a few hours not counting re-assembly. im not exacly sure how long it takes to tear down a 400ex motor and put it back together but at 60 an hour for 3 hours each way is about $360 plus your boreing and other sh*t that the dealership might throw in i think 400 is about right, but i would wait for a 440 guy to respond to see how long it takes to rip it apart and if u have to tear it all the way down. i hope i helped a little, good luck and let me know the performance difference.
Also im not exacly sure if the cam is nessisary but i hear the stage 2 cam from hot cams is bad A$$ with the 440 kit. and im not sure about this chip deal so i would wait for a 440 guy on that also

for the 440 you need the piston and new sleeve. you will need to remove your old sleeve. also, it is highly recommended to bore your cases. with the larger sleeve, you won't have the gap between your sleeve and case as there should be. you don't have to put in a cam but for a performance difference, it would be highly highly recommended. i wouldn't expect too much power from just the piston. you will also need to rejet the carb. i have no clue what the hell he is talking about with a chip???? $400 includes what??

There are alot of CDI's out there, and a lot of posted info on them as well. You might consider a search for them. Dyna, Big Gun and White Bros all make CDIs for the 400EX.

oh, he is talking about a cdi or rev box. you won't have to have that. it may beneficial but i wouldn't get anything besides a tc or gt thunder box because all of the others make the bike hard to start. believe me.

The big bore sleeve manufactured by us, Advanced and LA is designed specifically so that case boring is not required. You will have sufficient clearance between the sleeve and the case with the kit you purchased.
