Default TRX 250r vs. LT 250r

on a 500 honda everything is honda except the cylinder and piston. Bottom ends arent built as well as a honda to run the same in a drag race. The trannies also cant be cut like a honda to be as competitive.

Hey Beechman, do you ever go to Macdizzy by any chance? Rick Kirmil over there really beefs up the Honda bottom ends on his big bore engines. I'm sure if you talked to him he'd insist that you have to beef them up quite a bit if you really want to do things THE RIGHT WAY. I've seen pictures of some of the motors he builds. very impressive.

550cc on an engine designed for 250cc... Jeebus. That's bloody mad. At that point the question BEGS to be asked... why not just toss out the 250 bottom end and start from scratch with another motor??? Like a Rotax 800 maybe? LOL.

on the issue of gear cutting, I don't know the specifics of what can or can't be done on the Suzuki motors. I did some research and came up with nothing. Of course you could always magnaflux and shotpeen them. But if you're really want a dependable tranny, swap the engine. screw the frankenbitch 250s.
