Default 400ex clutch upgrade, whats the best kit?

I am looking to upgrade the clutch on my 400ex because I realized that it is no longer sufficient for my engine and I need something with more grip, I was looking at maybe a set of barnett sprigs, would that be enough or should I get the whole 8 plate kit from Curtis Sparks for $150?

well 2 out of 2 agree that I should go with sparks, but will I really notice a difference with the kit installed?

...I did have the Sparcks on my ex,and if i was to do it again i would. He does add one more fiber to make it an 8 plate set up. I think he uses ex steels, and either 250r,or 300ex fibers, something like that with H/D springs. I cant rember witch way it was with the steal or fibers, but one of them is thiner, thats how he can fit one more in a stick basket. Other then his kit, stock has held the 2nd best i think? IF you have more then one year on your basket,or drag race a lot. PUT a basket in it, you can get a good one for like 160 i think is what i paid?..Trust me on this one...i blew mine,500 later i was going again..should have just spent the 160 a long time ago.
I did notice with my sparks kit that, when at a dead stop and i put it in great,it would kind of leap forward a little..yes clutch was pulled all the way,i think it was just the extra plates in there.other then that worked great and i would use that set up again. I know with Sparks you PAY for it,but 90% of his stuff is worth it. I at one time even b4 i got Sparks clutch, tried H/D springs, with little luck..just didnt last long...Ok this is getting to long..Later

Thanks for all the information, I think Im gonna go with the Sparks kit but I have one more alternative that is $50.00 cheaper- the Barnett clutch kit, it includes heavy duty everything, just uses the stock nuber of plates, All I really want is something to transfer the power to the ground without slipping. Is the barnett kit enough? keep in mind all the mods on my engine, plus tere are more coming.

I have the full Barnett in my 440ex, fcr, cam, full exhaust, ported and it is the answer for me. I originally just put in the barnett springs only, but that didn't work. Go for the full Barnett in my opinion.

you will notice a difference with the sparks. the 8-plate setup really helps you get the power to the ground. in other words, you can slip it a lot more. i would be getting the sparks or gt thunder setup. i would buy stock parts over barnett if it was me. everyone has their own opinion though.
