250r vs 450r

Well sure on the track there are so many other factors, the most important being the rider. But doing sand drags is an excellent way of telling which one is actually faster in my opinion, especially when they have the same paddle tires.

My buddy has one of each,and the only time he rides the 250 R is when they do drag races.

I just bought a 450r and was out at the desert (glamis) and raced a lot of the yfzs and everyone is saying that the yfzs aare faster, but not when i was racing them. I beat everyone everytime. Not by much. WHo ever got the best start kept the lead the whole time and neither one gained or lost anything. Where is everyone reading that the yfz is faster???

I've dragged a few YFZs on pavement, even though they are pretty fast, a 310 is faster.

THANKS, IM GOING TO GLAMIS THE WEEKEND OF THE 27 (FEB) AND AM GOING TO RACE BANSHEES, ILL WIN A FEW AND LOOSE A FEW BUT I WAS WONDERING WHAT WAS THE BIG DEAL ABOUT THE 450R'S. ILL BE HAPPY WITH MY TRIKE UNTIL MORE MODS COME OUT FOR THE 450

Where is everyone reading that the yfz is faster???
I think the big deal about the YFZ is that it responds to the mods so much better. I think everyone would agree that stock for stock they are pretty close, but once you start with the pipes, air box, jetting, cams etc. the yfz walks away.

I don't put alot of faith in what DW's says in their shootouts but they said the YFZ consistently gave better lap times with all their riders over the 450R.

I never bealive what they have to say they have their minds set on who is the winner before they even test them. They said that the looks on the 450R were horabile(just like my spelling) and that is one of the things that made it a not so great machine, i mean come on looks are a little but aint going to srit me away from buying one.

properly built 310 will own a 450r. No question, hands down

Considering how long the two bikes have been out, how can one say what a properly built 450 is/will be? I mean taking a 250 to a 310 didn't happen over night. Take a 450 to a 500 then see how it does, that all I'm trying to say.
