Have had my 400 for 18 months and with not one problem to report yet. It has great power that comes in handy in tricky terrain and tight trails as your body english will make go over anything with ease. On the trails its awesome but think 2inch larger tires would be even better to give you that extra ground clearance and also seen no need for reverse so far. It really handles better than any quad I have ridden but I suggest anyone to turn the front tires around it will help the steering alot on the trails. It puts a smile on my face everytime I ride it and when I let someone try it they automaticly want one. Personally though I do Prefer 4x4 and wish that there was a lightweight 4x4 with the same power and handling as my 400 to go with it. Beleive me when I say if you were happy with your 300 you will be even happier with the 400. The 300 is a awesome built quad to so if you decided to keep that you still have a top notch quad. Anyway if you do get one let us know what you think.

I have the 400EX too and occasionally ride with a guy with a 300EX and I've very impressed with what his 300EX can do. Still I got a nice deal on my new 400EX (about $5,000.00 out the door). The 400EX turns so sharp that you can usually turn it around using a bump or something, coasting backwards not needing reverse.

The only thing I didn't like about my 400 is the 55-gallon drum Honda hangs on the back and calls a muffler!! It's heavy, restrictive but SOOO QUIET. As soon as you have the money get yourself a good exhaust system. It's definately ridable in stock form but so much fun with a few minor mods.

It depends on how hard you ride, I can keep up to my brother on his 400ex on my 300ex. I rode his and it has more power, and it might be a little bit better in whoops. Unless you ride on long straights without a lot of turns that require the brakes then you might be able to take the advantage of the extra speed of the 400. The 400ex is a little wider than the 300, and you don't have to ride it as hard to go fast.

Have you thought about a used 400. I have heard about a lot of people buying them as their first sport qwad for their kid or something and selling them because there too much of a qwad. you might get a great qwad for much less. maybe even with a few mods on it.

I added a Whitebros pipe to my 300ex and I I have a higher top speed and more low end than a warrior. I have not been able to go against a 400 yet but I'll bet it would be close! I put on a new headpipe and run 13disks on the pipe...I love my reverse on the 300ex so I know what your talking about when you say you want your reverse.

I had a 300ex, then traded up to a 400ex. The only add-on was a Meier plastic skidplate. That things is a great ride. I never pushed it close to it's limits (brand new - didn't want to smack it up), but it handles great. A world of difference in suspensions.

Well, I bought mine at the same time as one of my buddies...5 minutes apart. 2 weeks later...5 more of my friends went out and bought one. I should have a picture soon off (7) 2000 400EX's lined up. I cant wait until we make a trip up to the Allegheny Nation Forest to do some riding. Everyone is going to think we all work for Honda or something... Anyways...I think that should be enough proof that it is WELL worth the money.
