Which one of those would win if they were both stock..and i have a 400ex so what can i do to make it go a lot faster..for the cheapest price?

 

KFX400 without a problem.


Exhaust is your best bet to add some additional HP.

 

kfx are that fast? a 400ex goes like 65-70 stock right? how fast does a kfx 400 go?

 

also what kind of exhaust to add more hp?

 

If your talking about a kfx400/z400 the kawi is gonna get ya, but top speed is pretty close. The best thing to do to make a 400 faster is look at getting a new quad ... haha just kidding. I like my ex, but the cheapest best thing(s) to do is a slip on exhaust, aftermarket air filter and rejet the carb. Don't worry about getting a header pipe if your motor is still stock. You will get more torque with the factory header. If you can afford it go for a new cam too.

Do all those mods at the same time and you should have a lil more acceleration than a stock kfx400/z400, your top speed should increase by about 2 mph.

Watch out for modded kfx/z400's they will put a hurt on ya if they are moderately modded.

If you wanna hang with them you need motor work. Then its bigger bore time.

The best driver win .I have beat a couple of z 400 and kfx but it was very close.the kfx is just a little bit more powerful ..in dirtwheel(I know its not all true) they made a shootout and the Kfx won by 0.5 second thats very close

 

You guys must be kidding, right? Are your EXs that much slower than the Zs? If thats the case then the 04 EXs are faster!
Me and a buddie both bought new 04s last November and just recently had a chance to run them against the Zs. I must admit, I was starting to believe all that hipe about the Zs being faster, yada yada...............................But folks, it just ain't so! We (mine AND his) had no problems at all hanging with any color Z. We dragged raced several of them and the outcome was who ever got the holeshot won. I'm not talking just 300ft. either, but top end as well. These quads are as even as you could possibly get! What I mean is the EX is not faster but nor is it slower, understand? I don't blame you if you don't believe me but just imagine how surprized we were thinking we were gonna get our a$$es handed to us and it just didn't happen. Come to think of it, the Z riders were quite surprized especially that ours was completely stock and a couple of them had pipes...............[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
