I dont believe a kfx/z400 smokes a 400ex. From what I have seen and raced the kfx accelerates quicker but i have hung in there in high gear. Now the z400 doesnt accelerate as fast but has better top end. I have beat a stock z400 before on my stock 400ex. The suspension on my 400ex is perfect for my type of riding trails a little jumps here and there.. good choice on the 400ex

That's a great analysis for bikes that are exactly the same! If they are both stock the will run the same. One maybe a little faster then the other but for the most part they will be pretty close to the same speed all the way around. Research things before you post incorrect info.

ok, let me explain more about "smoking" the 400ex Honda, the z400 is a softer ride, it seems zipperier, it is more balanced when I jump it on both trail riding and at the mx track, and I pull away from him every time we are running county roads (straightaways) in the U.P. I weigh 215 lbs and my older brother (41 yrs old) weighs 150 lbs.... both are bone stock! keep in mind we both raced our whole lifes starting with 3 wheelers before half of the kids on this web site were even out of diapers... I am not here on a honda web site to sell a suzuki, I still have 3 other Hondas, just letting you know for trail riding and some mx riding without spending alot of money on extra after market parts, I would listen to the more experienced riders and if anything make it a point to ride them both and you make the decision.... it's alot of money to be shelling out either way...... If you want fast and crazy jumping, any high perfomance quad is awsome, but get ready to buy alot of performance parts to achieve this goal!

well the honda is best built the z and kfx are pretty close in top end but out of those 2 i would go with the z. they all mod quick and have lost of mod options. but personally i would go with the ex b/c i dont race and i like to rump and do wheelies (ex is the ultimate wheelie quad!!!) so w/e u want is up to u

i hate whe npeople say the z will smoke the ex it is not true just because the z is newer dont make it faster i have road both and raced z's with equall mods and they will not smoke the ex unless you miss a gear so i am not saying witch is better and faster because they feel the same to me but the z400 has had some frame issues that shouldnt be overlooked personally i wouldnt but the z400 the ex does every thing it does and can do it better if you know how to ride one
