hey guys i have a 1988 cr500 and i'm not really sure on how much or which kind of oil i should use. some people have told me to use gear oil. but others say it's too thick. some one also told me that it could take anywhere from 1 qrt to 2.5 qrts. if anyone know for sure or how to find out how much that would be great. thanks guys.

for your trany, I run 5-30 weaight vavoline, supposed to run gear saver and can find it at most dealerships or performance bike shops. First remove your check oil bolt from your side case (right side from sitting on your bike) and fill above the clutch untill it comes out of the check hole. when you get that far put the check bolt back in a add 6 oz's and your done. for fuel mixture I use H1R and mix 50 to 1. you can find that with the gear saver.

I use 75 weight bel ray gear saver in mine. Havent had any problems with it yet. For the gas I use Amsoil 100-1 mixed and 50-1 just to be safe.

The stick is broke. He needs to know how much. He just ported and polished er. (bored er too). Now 2nd gear is like a granny gear.

I think we may put the cr motor in a 250x frame but we are having trouble figuring out the kickstarter.

there isnt a stick on the oil filler plug. YOu have to pull the 10mm bolt out of the side of the case and fill till it starts coming out of the bolt hole in the side of the case.
