Default Rancher at loading question!

My dad has a 03 tacoma 4 door the bed is 5 feet and with the tailgate down its 6 feet or close. the rancher is 80 inches... the bed with the tailgate down is close to 72 inches. will it fit?? where do they measure from longest point to longest point?? help me out!! we have a trailer bit it holds 1 fourwheeler and we put my dads in it. we dont have any room for a bigger trailer. i dont drive for another year so he cant get a new truck now. by the way i am getting the rancher at for my 16th birthday.

i'm betting that the tires would be centered at the edge of the tailgate. jsut tie it in good. what we do with our foreman when we put it in out nissan is get some good strong metal milk crates in the front corners of the bed, and drive right up on those. it gives us jsut enough room go close the tailgate. you might have to find something taller though. people around here do it all the time. always remember to tie it in good though. with it up on blocks the high end reely wants to move.
