300EX brake help
#1
I just bought a older 300EX last week and need some help with the front brakes. The brakes kind-of work. The front pads look to be in pretty good shape, but when I pull the lever it will pull in all the way to the bars and just bearly apply any brakes. I have new front pads, but I don't think thats the problem. I've tried bleeding them with no better results. Is there something I'm missing? Are the front calipers rebuildable? How about the front master cyclinder? Also, Is there a trick to get the font pads off? Like how do you get the bolts loose to get the pads out?
THANKS!!

Take the front calipers off, push the piston and pad all the way in,fill the gap with a chunk of wood,or metal,or something solid, then try the brake lever.with no slack in the caliper, and you still have little or no pressure, you may need to rebuild the master cylinder, the kit is only about 15 or 20 bucks. if you now have a good solid feel on the lever, you still have air trapped somewhere, not letting you get good travel on the piston in the caliper. An auto parts store may have a reverse bleeder, you hook it to the caliper bleed screw and push fluid up to the master, pushing the air uphill and out.
