I have been wanting a 400ex, but i don't want to spend a lot of $$ on one, I was wondering if a used one would be a wise choice, i plan on putting a 416kit in it, nerfs, wheels spacers, pipe and tires on it. If i bought a new one i couldn't get all the goodies on it, thanks for any comment.

 

I would say that there is nothing wrong with buying used. I would look for a mostly stock machine. Should be able to pick something up for around $3500. It should be clean. Just look it over REAL good and ride it before you buy it. Good luck.
