WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANNA DO THAT. IF YOU HAVEN'T NOTICE PEOPLE HERE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO THINK OF WAYS TO GET HONDA TO BRING BACK THE 250R. AND SINCE HONDA CAN'T WHY NOT DO THE NEXT BEST THING AND COMBINE THE SPEED AND POWER OR THE 250R AND THE CONTROL AND HANDLING OF THE 400EX. I HAVE SEEN IT DONE AND PLAN TO DO IT. IT WOULD MAKE A AWESOOM QUAD!!!

well a 250r frame a 400ex fame are so close to the same why not just get 250r. you don't have to do a buch of stuff to make the motor fit. if you want it to look like a 400ex just put 400ex plastic on it. anyways.........

because the handling is much better than the r itself and its not that hard to make it fit. the biggest problem is the pipe.

why not just get a 250r? because they were made 11-14 years ago and the frames a beat! It would crack and break all over if you raced it. With a 400 chassis it is brand new with no stress or fatigue on the frame and it is about $2000 cheaper than buyin a lonestar or laegar chassis. Ithink its the way to go for a '250r' thats not beat and can run.

umm i think id like more info on this topic. It seems intresting to me. I am in the market for a basket case R to make race ready. But i am worryig about having a crack frame, but not it all makes sense. So it all makes sence know cuz i could pay less and get a
r that migth be a pice of ****, wit a bad frame but i could get it cheap. Then buy a brand new ex frame and put the motor in it. And take the parts off the R that i can use and stick it on the ex frame liek the brakes and stuff. But anyway i plan on going aftermakret on most parts... SO what would we need to make motor mounts and a raditor mount? What about the little anit freeze container? And waht r parts will fit on the ex?
sorry it is long but thanks!

just keep the 400EX at home in its frame and do some mods to the thing, you'll make yourself so much happier with the end result. The 400's got enough pull with a little playing......2 stroke's still are awsome but ill admitt the 4's got the reliabilty.
